Tim Peake to Embark on Space Mission with Axiom Space

Tim Peake has joined Axiom Space's Astronaut Corps to fly with Axiom somewhere in late 2025. Tim Peake will be leading the all-UK astronaut mission to the ISS and a crew including John Mcfall, Rosemary Coogan, and Meganne Christian.

Who is Tim Peake?!

You have come to the "peake" place! Tim Peake, 51, is a British astronaut who joined the ESA Astronaut Corps in 2009; he flew to the ISS in 2015/16 and also did multiple EVA's from the ISS. Tim Peake was originally in the Army Air Corps; he graduated from the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, becoming an officer.

What will be his role?

Tim Peake's role for the all-UK astronaut mission is to be the most experienced astronaut out of the others flying, being the lead astronaut in the mission itself. Tim Peake is the most experienced British astronaut and most famous; choosing him is the right decision to lead the mission itself.

Tim Peake will come out of retirement to lead the all-UK mission in late 2025, potentially launching on Axiom 5, with all the other British astronauts. Tim Peake spoke, "It's a fantastic opportunity for the UK; very exciting to be able to have an all-UK mission with a science package."
